Printer Ink Refills
Printer ink refills come in many different varieties. All printers have a different size, shape and model when it comes to replacing ink cartridges. Many companies have tried to make this an easy process but at times it can prove to be complicated. Choosing the right refill package and ink needed is important so damage doesn’t occur to your printer and cartridges.
There are companies that will refill empty cartridges in store for convenience. This process is usually a money saver. The cartridges are then reused instead of being thrown into the landfill, which helps the environment as well as your overall costs. There are refill kits to purchase that are easy to use, quick to refill and clean to apply. There is often a saving of up to 80% of the cost to purchase a new cartridge each time a refill is used. The ink can be purchased in bulk, which will also reduce the cost for future refills.

Procedure
Printer ink refills are completed in one of two ways. The first way is to use a syringe to inject the new ink into the inkwell. The second process involves pouring the toner into the cartridge. Most cartridges can be refilled many times, but check to make sure there are no leaks in the plastic casing. All printers use a black cartridge full of black ink or toner. Using a printer that requires toner means there is a heat process to fuse the ink powder with the toner to cause the ink to adhere to the paper. Color printers have three basic primary colors that blend together to create any color required. Some cartridges contain all three colors in separate compartments for space saving in the printer. Photography printers contain additional colors to make the photographs appear more realistic. When printing photos a large quantity of ink will be used, making this process costly. Inkjet printers consume large amounts of ink quickly when used on a regular basis. Using printer ink refills with an inkjet printer will be the most cost effective. This style of printer is initially cheaper but is more expensive to run. The cost of the ink is higher than the cost of an ink-ribbon style printer such as a dot matrix style printer. Inkjet printers use a spray to precisely disperse ink onto the paper.
Advice
Good advice to follow when using printer ink refills is to refill the cartridge before it is completely empty, as this will increase the refill success rate. When refilling for the first time it is suggested to fill slowly. Place the syringe deep into the container to insure that no air bubbles are created inside the cartridge. Allow the refill to sit in the upright position for at least 24 hours to allow ink to create a proper flow to ensure smooth printing. Printer ink refills are a cost-effective way to continue using a printer for many years.
