Inkjet Printers
Since the 1980’s, inkjet printers have increased in popularity while decreasing in price and are now one of the most popular computer printer types used in offices and homes. This type of printer has enabled people to print high quality, vivid documents, and even photographs, on paper. The printers spray extremely small ink droplets, between fifty and sixty microns, through tiny nozzles found in the print head onto paper to create images. The inkjet print head continuously moves across the page while the paper moves forward until the image or document text is complete. The more ink droplets per inch, the higher the print quality.
Many inkjet printer cartridges contain four colors, which are black, yellow, magenta and cyan. Mixing the colors into several various combinations creates many different shades and hues. Compared to printers from years ago, inkjet printers now offer more advantages, such as the fine detail, high quality prints and higher resolution. They are also easy to operate, run quietly and are relatively inexpensive.

Uses
Color inkjet printers enable the user to make color documents in vibrant, artistic ways. By using a graphics program or desktop publishing software, they make wonderful outputs from huge billboards to small business cards. The five types of color printers are inkjet, thermal wax, solid ink, dye sublimation and laser. Nozzles or jets emit tiny drops of ink on the paper surface and you find these in various setups in inkjet cartridges, with many inkjet printers having a separate cartridge for each color of ink. Although color inkjet printers are inexpensive to purchase, the color cartridges are costly and consumers often use off-brand cartridges that are compatible with their inkjet printer. High end or more expensive inkjet printers used in many small businesses or at home to make very good graphics and print images. For professionals, such as architects, graphic design artists and engineers, there are color inkjet printers available that print large output items such as billboards and banners.
